Pupillage

The Selection of Junior Tenants

Chambers normally selects junior tenants from those currently undertaking pupillage in Chambers, although it reserves the right to recruit and consider Third Six Month pupils for tenancy. In the last 3 years, we have recruited 6 junior tenants, 5 from our own pupils.

The following criteria are applied in selecting tenants from Chambers' pupils and otherwise:

• Intellectual qualities
• Relationships
• Temperament
• Motivation
• Self-presentation

The following are disregarded in their entirety:

Race, colour, ethnic or national origin, nationality, citizenship, sex, age, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, religion and political persuasion.

Chambers usually makes a decision about the selection of tenants in July of each year.
